Efforts on to secure captive policemen in Chhatisgarh

In Chhattisgarh, the government is keeping a close watch on the developments relating to the hostage crisis. The administration is in touch with the human rights activists and the local media for an early release of the kidnapped jawans by the naxalites. The state police is also taking the help of the Andhra Pradesh police and the media in this connection. This was stated by the Principal secretary, Home, Mr. N.K.Oswal a short while ago. Talking to AIR News, Mr. Oswal expressed the hope that the jawans will be released by this evening. It may be recalled that the 48 hours deadline reportedly given by the naxalites to the government comes to an end this evening. As has already been reported, naxalites had abducted 7 policemen from near Bhadrakali under Bijapur district about a week ago. They had subsequently killed three of them. The rest four jawans are still in their captivity since.
