Efforts on to revive Air India: Ajit Singh<br/>

Civil Aviation minister Ajit Singh on Wednesday said that efforts are on to revive Air India. Replying to a query during the Question Hour in the Lok Sabha, he stated that the employees of the state carrier were paid salaries in time in the last six months and it has returned some of the loans taken from banks.He said Air India&apos;s performance standards have improved and promotions to its employees, which had been stopped recently, will be started from next month.The Civil Aviation minister said, a turnaround plan of the government is already under implementation to put the ailing airline back on track.Mr Singh informed that the Centre is also planning to set up new airports and improve facilities on the existing ones.
