In Meghalaya, efforts are being made to rescue 15 labourers trapped in a coal mine at Nangal Dibra in South Garo Hills district. These miners were trapped when water flooded the mine on July 6 following a blast. Two teams of National Disaster Relief Force have arrived from Guwahati to expedite the rescue operation. Ten pumps have been pressed into service to drain out the water from the mine.
