Efforts on to release abducted jawans in Chhattisgarh

In Chhattisgarh, there has been no breakthrough yet in releasing the abducted jawans from the naxal captivity. The government machinery is continuously monitoring the situation for the release of the 4 jawans abducted by the naxalites on the 19th of this month from the Bhadrakali police station area of the Bijapur district. Mr. Girdhari Nayak, ADG, police, told AIR news this evening that efforts are being made to get the jawans released. The administration is in touch with the human rights activists and the local media for an early release of the kidnapped jawans. The state police is also taking the help of the Andhra Pradesh police and the media in this connection. Meanwhile there are news that the naxalites have reportedly extended their 48 hours deadline by another day ending Wednesday evening.
