Efforts are on to get release the abducted BDO Prashant Kumar Layak from the clutches of Maoists in Jharkhand. Search operations are being conducted at suspected hideouts of the Maoists in the district of East Singhbhum. The Maoists had kidnapped Mr. Layak from block office of Dhalbhumgarh in the east Singhbhum district. The Maoists are demanding release of its cadres who are lodged in Ghatshila jail of this same district. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Shibu Soren has appealed to the Maoists to release the BDO.<br/>
