Efforts on for Palestine-Israel talks

Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erekat has said that an indirect talk between Palestinians and Israel was not yet a done deal. According to media reports, he said "we are making every possible effort to begin these talks. But the official decision will be made by the Arab foreign ministers and the PLO executive committee". His comment has come following the announcement of US secretary of state that the Mideast peace process will get back on track next week, with indirect Israeli-Palestinian talks. Mrs. Clinton today said that the US special Mideast envoy George Mitchell, who will mediate the talks, will travel to the region next week. Israeli government officials made no immediate reaction.<br/>
