Efforts of Sports Ministry yielding results as more & more players qualified for Paris Olympics, Asian Games & World Athletics C'ships: Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur

<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur has said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sports talents in India are encouraged through Khelo India, target podium Olympic scheme, improvement in infrastructure and higher allocation in the Budget. <br />''<br />''He was addressing the players and officials at the Sports Authority of India campus in Bengaluru on Wednesday after inaugurating the multipurpose Sports hall. He said, the efforts made by the Sports Ministry are yielding results as more and more players have qualified for the Paris Olympics, Asian Games and World Athletics championships. He added that Khelo India is helping scout new talents as a number of new national records are being set in recent days.<br />''<br />'' Praising the SAI centre in Bengaluru, the Minister noted that Paris Olympics-qualified players like Akshdeep Singh and Priyanka Gowsami are being trained here. The Hockey team which won Bronze in the Tokyo Olympics is also undergoing training at the complex, he added. The Minister also called upon the States, people's representatives and the corporate sector to invest in players, sports infrastructure and sporting events.</span><br />
