Veteran film actor Kamal Haasan has said that efforts of Film Restoration all over world are going on in right direction and these efforts are helpful for skill development in the field of films and media. He was speaking at the concluding function of Film Preservation and Restoration Work Shop at National Film Archives of India in Pune today evening. Kamal Haasan who is also chairman of the skill development committee for Media and Films expressed expectations that we should have more film archives in different states.<br/><br/> Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sunil Arora was present as guest of honour on this occasion. In his speech Mr Arora said that sufficient fund is now allotted for the work of film conservation, digitization and restoration. He said that work will start in NFAI within next couple of days and more than 1000 films will be restored. While talking with the correspondents after the concluding function Mr. Arora said that till 2020 expenditure of 597 Crore rupees will be done on the work of film conservation, digitization and restoration.<br/>10 days' Workshop was organized by NFAI in collaboration with International Federation of Film Archives and Film Heritage Foundation. Lectures and practical sessions on various topics related to film conservation, digitization, restoration and technical aspects of film archiving were organized during this workshop in which 48 students from all over India, Shrilanka and Bangladesh participated. The course was specially designed by David Walsh, Head of the Technical Commission of FIAF taking into consideration Indian requirements and conditions and is certified by FIAF.
