An effective system has been put in place to monitor the entry and exit of foreigners from India. Its emphasis is on enhancing security and facilitation to all genuine visitors from abroad. The system provides data to the concerned authorities relating to their application, immigration and registration as well as information relevant to their stay and travels. Giving this information in the Lok Sabha today, Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said, more than 80 lakh foreigners visited India in 2015.
