Edward Miliband is elected leader of Britain's Labour Party

At the end of a dramatically close contest for the leadership of the Opposition Labour Party, Edward Miliband has beaten his older brother David to win the election by a narrow margin. It is being suggested that Ed Miliband would move the Labor Party to the left. The task before Ed Miliband is to unite the party and work to invigorate the Labor after its heavy defeat in last May's' elections. Above all, he would have to restore Labour's credibility to govern, given the huge budget deficit left by the last Labor Government.
