In Andhra Pradesh, educational institutions including professional colleges re-opened today in the Telangana region with teachers joining duties after a 35-day strike. Following an agreement with the State Government late last evening to resolve their issues, the Telangana Teachers Joint Action Committee has pulled off from the ongoing General Strike for statehood for Telangana. About 1.5 lakh teachers in the region started attending classes this morning. They assured that classes lost due to strike would be covered during holidays.Meanwhile, work in the mines of Singareni Collieries in Telangana region resumed with employees attending duties today. Coal production has become normal in about 50 mines in four districts of the region. About 65,000 employees belonging to six trade unions had agreed to defer the strike indefinitely yesterday.However, the ongoing Strike by State Government employees continued to affect the functioning of the administration for the 36th day today.
