Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said the leading educational institutions can play an important role in creating awareness about the issues like financial inclusion in the country.<br/><br/> Speaking at a function in New Delhi today, Mr. Jaitley said the NDA government has taken various steps in this direction including Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana for opening of bank accounts of poor people. He said under the PMJDY, 24 crore bank accounts have been opened so far. <br/><br/> Mr. Jaitley said the MUDRA Yojana has been launched so that small traders, businesses and new entrepreneurs can have access to banking finance without security. Finance Minister further said that major beneficiaries of the scheme are women and people from weaker sections.
