Educational institutes in Manipur to reopen for nine and above classes, says State Government

<span style="color: #222222; font-size: 13.3333px;">In Manipur, the State Government has decided to re-open the physical classes for Standard nine and above in all educational institutes.</span><span style="color: #222222;"><br />''<br />''An order issued this evening by the State Education Department said that the COVID-19 positive cases are considerably low for the past few months in the state and the public activities have been granted conditional relaxation in Manipur. Therefore, the decision has been taken to allow the re-opening of physical classes from Standard nine and above in all educational institutes in the state.<br />''<br />''Speaking to media persons, the State Education Minister S. Rajen said that the re-opening of schools, colleges, and other educational institutes shall be subject to observance of such guidelines issued by the Health Department. The SoPs issued in regard to the re-opening of the classes should be observed by all stakeholders for safety. He said, the teaching hours will be limited to three to four hours for both online and physical classes and no cultural or sports events will be permitted. The attendance of students must not be enforced and shall be purely based on parental consent. All the non-vaccinated teaching and non-teaching staff including those who got only the first dose of vaccination are required to undergo an RT-PCR test every twenty days.</span><br />
