President Pranab Mukherjee today said that our education system must be in highest order. <br/><br/>While delivering centenary speech at Banaras Hindu University this evening, Mr Mukherjee expressed concern about lack of quality education. He called upon all governments and private bodies to include education as Gross National Priority. <br/><br/>While lauding the role and vision of BHU founder late Madan Mohan Malviya for his vision to establish a university with excellence, Mr Mukherjee underlined his concern for quality education in Indian universities and colleges. <br/><br/>He said, only two Indian institutions were able to find a place in world class ranking. Reiterating his feeling for world class education and research works, he said that very minimal of our GDP is being spent on research especially fundamental research works.<br/><br/>Mr Mukherjee also referred growing population of youth and said that within a decade India is expected to have a world largest population in working age. Mr Mukherjee said that we could prepare our youth through quality education and skill training and country could be a largest supplier of skilled working force. <br/><br/>Reinforcing his approach for education, President said all basic requirements for education especially for scientific research should be filled. <br/><br/>Appreciating faculty of BHU for publishing more than four thousands research papers, he said we don't lack of talent and competence but our education system must be in order. President said world class research and fundamental research is essential for expanding of knowledge and development .<br/><br/>Earlier, President was welcomed by state Governor Ram Naik, state government Minister B S Tripathi; Chancellor Dr Karan Singh at the Swatantrata Bhawan Auditorium. Governor Ram Naik also released a set of commemorative coin of 100 Rupees and 10 Rupees to mark the centenary year of BHU. He gifted first set of coins to the President. In his speech, Governor Ram Naik said that BHU is example of vision and commitment of Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya.
