President Pranab Mukherjee today said, education and skill development are among the key enabling factors to achieve 9 per cent economic growth as envisaged in the twelveth five year plan.
Inaugurating the 27th Indian Engineering Congress in New Delhi, Mr. Mukherjee said, India is posed to emerge as an economic power it terms of purchasing power parity.
He said, the size of the indian economy is only second to china and it has shown better resilience in weathering the impact of the global economic slow down.
Mr. Mukherjee said, since 2003-04 to 2010-11, the country had achieved more than 8 per cent annual GDP growth at six ocassions.
President Pranab Muherjee called on engineers to further the govenment's vision of achieving sustainable development and inclusive growth.
