President Pranab Mukharji has said that Knowledge is not confined in the geographical limits, it travels all over the world. So education must be linked globally. <br/><br/>President was addressing the 8th Convocation of Lovely Professional university in District Phagwara of Punjab. He said, the country has more than 750 universities and more than 38 thousand colleges, but much more requires to be done. He called upon all Big institutions to come at par with the foreign universities so that indian students do not need to go abroad for higher stuies. He said, efforts should be made to ensure migration of students in the reverse direction. <br/><br/>Recalling that India had provided leadership in higher education for centuries, the President pitched for efforts to reclaim that status. He said India's diversity is the product of civilisation and history.<br/><br/>The President gave away the degrees to 38 gold medallists on the occassion. Degrees to nearly 16 thousand students were also distributed during the convocation. Mr Mukherjee congratulated the passed out graduates and appealed them to give their best to build harmonious, energetic and peaceful society and country. <br/><br/>The President was awarded honorary doctorate by the University.
