Education Minister virtually lays foundation stone of IGNOU Regional Centre for Aizawl

<span style="color: #222222;">More than 34 thousand learners in the country pursued higher education programmes including Degree and Certificate programmes from the Indira Gandhi National Open University in the last five years. This has also provided them employment opportunities as well through vocational courses.<br />''<br />''The Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said this after virtually laying the foundation stone of IGNOU Regional Centre for Aizawl today. Dr. Nishank also said that this will further fulfil aspirations of the people of Mizoram towards pursuing higher education.<br />''<br />''On the occasion, IGNOU Vice Chancellor Prof. Nageshwar Rao stressed on building infrastructure which will give impetus to the university's activities in the state. He outlined the future road-map of the university which is in tune with the New Education Policy-2020 giving more focus on the Open System of Education. Prof. Rao also shared the Online Education vision of the university at the foundation laying ceremony.</span><br />
