<span style="color: #222222;">In Assam, midday meal is being served to over 40 lakh school students by the Education department. Talking to AIR, Principal Secretary in Education Department, B Kalyan Chakravarthy said that social distancing and proper hygiene are being maintained. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said that all necessary steps have been taken to continue the midday meal in the state during lock down. Mr Chakravarthy said that the school management committee and head teachers have been instructed to ensure that it should reach the houses of the students.</span><br />
