Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Krishna Tirath has said educating Dalit women is the best way to empower them and reduce many social evils. Speaking at a conference of Dalit women in New Delhi ton Tuesday, she said even Babasaheb Ambedkar acknowledged that education is the greatest weapon to protect one's respect and rights. The minister said it was important that children should also get proper facilities at schools. Tirarth said she has suggested to the HRD ministry that schools should be constructed near villages.
