The Editors Guild has urged the Jammu and Kashmir government not to impose restrictions on journalists which prevents them from carrying out their legitimate professional duties.<br/><br/>In a press release, they said, if media is prevented from carrying out its duties, it will give rise to rumour mongering.<br/><br/>Prominent Journalistic bodies of Kashmir valley Press Guild of Kashmir and Kashmir Press Association have also criticised the state government for putting curbs on valley based media persons by denying them curfew passes en mass.
