In Puducherry, senior officials of the Enforcement Directorate were reportedly questioning the Lt. Governor Mr. Iqbal Singh for the second day today. He is being questioned on his links with Hasan Ali who has been jailed in connection with money laundering. AIR correspondent says the entire proceedings are being video graphed. The ED officials had spent more than 5 hours in the Raj Nivas yesterday. However, details of what transpired were not available. Meanwhile, the AIADMK State secretary Mr. Anbhazagan today reiterated the opposition’s demand for the resignation of the Lt Governor.The Chief Minister Mr V.Vaithalingam has said there is no need for Mr Iqbal Singh to resign as the Enforcement Directorate was just in the process of investigating his alleged links to Hasan Ali. Replying to questions, Mr. Vaithalingam said the Supreme Court which was looking into the case pertaining to Hasan Ali will take a call, based on the reports that would be submitted by the Enforcement Directorate.
