The Enforcement Directorate questioned former BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah in connection with the alleged financial irregularities in the conduct of the cash rich IPL’s second edition.
Addressing media persons in Mumbai after the questioning, Mr. Shah who is now the BCCI Vice-President (West zone), said that the questioning was a routine one.
ED is investigating alleged violations conducted by some IPL franchises under the Foreign Exchange Management Act and remittance related offences concerning both the IPL and the BCCI.
The ED is also probing the role of ex-IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi, (currently in London), for alleged breach of foreign exchange rules and has earlier questioned actor and Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan in the case.
