ED gets 10 days custody of West Bengal minister Jyotipriyo Mallick

<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">The arrested West Bengal minister, Jyotipriyo Mallick, has been given 10 days of ED custody by the Bankshall court, Kolkata. Enforcement Directorate arrested Jyotipriyo Mallick today at around 3 am in the morning, in connection with public distribution system (PDS) scam. Mr. Mallick holds the portfolio of minister of the Forest department. Jyotipriyo Mallick fainted during the hearing in the court. He has been admitted to Apollo Hospital in Kolkata. A four-member doctors' board has been formed for his treatment.</span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">Earlier, ED interrogated him in his Salt Lake house for over 20 hours before the arrest. Then, he was brought to the ED office in Salt Lake CGO Complex of Kolkata. Jyotipriyo Mallick had been taken to Joka ESI hospital in the morning today after the arrest for a medical checkup and after that, he was presented before the court.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">The minister's two houses at Salt Lake and his ancestral house on Amherst Street in Kolkata had been searched by ED  before the arrest. ED officials also searched the flats of Mr. Mallick's PA Amit Dey in the Nagerbazar area of DumDum and two of his close associates in Byatra and Beleghata.  </span></p>
