In Ecuador, authorities have closed schools and evacuated residents in areas near a volcano after ashes spewing from its crater fell on homes and farms. Volcanic Ashes from Tungurahua, meaning throat of fire in the native Quechua language, were thrown up more than 7 kilometers high into the air on Tuesday. An alert has been issued. Six eruptions, ranging from moderate to large, and a significant ash cloud was reported from the active stratovolcano located in the Cordillera Oriental of Ecuador.
