Ecuador: Protesting indigenous groups block roads across country against govt's economic policies

In Ecuador, protesting indigenous groups have blocked key roads across the country against the government's economic policies. According to local media, some 20 roadblocks have been set up in 11 Ecuadorean provinces partly cutting off access to the capital Quito.<br />''These protests were organised by the powerful Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador. The protesters accused conservative President Guillerme Lasso of neglecting the economic well-being of indigenous communities and submitting to pressure from the International Monetary Fund. The protesters are demanding reduced cost of fuel and price caps on agricultural goods.  <br />''Ecuador is currently grappling with rising levels of inflation, unemployment and poverty.
