In Ecuador, protesting indigenous groups have blocked key roads across the country against the government's economic policies. According to local media, some 20 roadblocks have been set up in 11 Ecuadorean provinces partly cutting off access to the capital Quito.<br />''These protests were organised by the powerful Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador. The protesters accused conservative President Guillerme Lasso of neglecting the economic well-being of indigenous communities and submitting to pressure from the International Monetary Fund.
