Over eight lakh passengers were caught travelling without ticket in trains running under East Coast Railway in the last two years. <br/><br/>Railway sources said a fine of 16 crore 20 lakh rupees was collected from 3 lakh 96 thousand passengers in 2014-15 and 21 crore 30 lakh rupees from 5 lakh 6 hundred passengers in 2015-16. <br/><br/>The percentage of passengers travelling without ticket rose by 26.45 in 2015-16 compared to the previous year. The collection of fine also improved by 31.47 per cent during this period, the East Coast Railway sources said. As per the information, most of them were caught while travelling in trains and some at the railway stations.
