The economic revival committee constituted by Sikkim government has underlined its objectives of quantifying losses across industries due to COVID-19 lockdown and to find solutions to revive them in consultation with line departments and stakeholders.<br />'' <br />''Addressing a press conference in Gangtok today, chairman of the economic revival committee Sonam Tshering Venchungpa said sectors and departments like tourism, hospitality, excise, land revenue and education have been the hardest hit by the lockdown. He said that the agriculture sector has continued to witness significant activity during this period.<br />'' <br />''Mr Venchungpa informed that the committee has completed discussions with all line departments and will begin consultation with stakeholders, gram and zilla panchayats, legislators and political parties of the state from 4th June.<br />'' <br />''He said that the committee will need additional time to estimate and prepare a comprehensive report on economic revival across sectors.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Highlighting challenges in the health sector, professor of medicine at Sikkim Manipal Hospital and a member of the committee Dr OP Dhakal said infrastructural improvements in view of COVID19 could strengthen Sikkim's health sector and significantly reduce its dependence on other states.</span><br />
