The Election Commission is confident that the economic blockade in Manipur will not impact the poll process in the state. <br/><br/>This was stated by Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi while talking to reporters in Imphal today. He said government has given an assurance in this regard to the poll body which, he said, will get cooperation from all the sections. Dr Zaidi said all arrangements are in place to ensure free and fair elections.<br/><br/>Asked how the Commission will ensure smooth movement of its officials and security personnel as the state is hit by fuel shortage, Dr Zaidi said, there is sufficient availability of petrol, diesel for the poll process. He added that adequate number of Central police forces will be available for each phase.
