Economic blockade hits Manipur badly

Price hike and scarcity of essential commodities including petroleum products have badly hit Manipur due to the economic blockade along the National Highways of Manipur.In the state capital Imphal, cooking gas is being sold at 2000 rupees per cylinder and petrol oil at 140 rupees per litre.State government in consultation with the Imphal Bazar Business Community has fixed the prices of essential commodities due to the economic blockade.The economic blockade called by the Sadar Hills District Demand Committee on the National Highways of the state has entered its 58th day. The economic blockade called by the United Naga Council along the National Highways to counter the agitation of the Sadar Hills District Demand Committee has also entered is 38th day.
