Export Credit Gurantee Corporation has earned a record 1000 crore rupees premium in the year 2011-12. This is the maximum it achieved since its inception in 1957. The corporation has settled claims of more than 700 crore rupees during this year.
Disclosing this to media in Jalandhar, the Chairman of the Corporation N. Shankar said that the premium target for the financial year 2012-13 has been kept at 1150 crore rupees. He advised the exporters not to choose disturbed countries for exporting goods as risk of losses is more there.
The corporation is the seventh largest credit insurer of the world in covering national exports.
