The Election Commission has decided to send 28 observers for first Phase of Assembly Elections in West Bengal. The State is going for Elections in this phase in 54 seats covering six North Bengal districts on 18th of next month. Giving this information in Kolkata, the state Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Mr. N.K. Sahana said that besides General Observers one special police observer is also being deployed in Darjeeling District to monitor law and order during the polling. AIR Kolkata correspondent reports that with the issuance of Notification for first phase Assembly Poll in the State today the filling of nominations have also begun. Altogether 4 nominations have been filled on the first day so far. The last day of filling nominations for first phase is 31st of this month.
