The full election commission will review the Poll Preparedness for Bihar Assembly elections during their two day visit to the state. According to election commission sources, the Chief election Commissioner along with two other commissioners will reach Patna this evening to take stock of the arrangements being made for the smooth conduct of poll. The Commission will hold discussions with the District Magistrates and district police chiefs and also meet the representatives of various political parties on the poll related issues. Earlier, leaders of different political parties had requested the Chief Election Commissioner, S Y Quraishi to deploy jawans of central Para military forces on every booth, to eliminate mistakes in the electoral roll and not to deploy tainted officers on election duties. Election Commission is setting up a monitoring division headed by a senior official to check the use of money power during the poll process. Our correspondent reports that this is the first visit of the full election commission to Bihar after dates for the Assembly elections were announced. The six phase poll for 243 seats begins from 21st of next month and concludes on 20th of November. Votes will be counted on November 24.
