The two vacancies in the State of Bihar have been created due to the resignation of Sushil Kumar Modi, who has now been elected as a Rajya Sabha member and election of Vinod Narain Jha to the State Assembly last year.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The single vacancy in Andhra Pradesh has been created due to the resignation of Pothula Sunitha, while in Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, the term of 12 members is coming to an end on 30th of this month.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Commission has decided to hold bye-elections to the three Legislative Councils by the members of their Legislative Assemblies for which the votes will be polled on 28th January. Election Commission has also clearly laid down directions to strictly follow COVID appropriate behaviour during the polling session. It has directed the Chief Secretaries of these States to depute a senior officer to ensure that the instructions regarding COVID-19 containment measures are properly complied with while making arrangements for conducting the election.</span><br />'' &nbsp;<br />
