The Election Commission has decided to deploy police observers to monitor law and order during Assembly polls in West Bengal. According to the State Election Department sources, the police observers will arrive in the State after the nomination process is over. Two police observers, will be deployed in Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri districts in North Bengal while ten of them will be deployed in South Bengal districts. Meanwhile, nine expenditure observers have arrived in North Bengal for first phase poll which will take place on the 18th of next month. Besides, 28 general observers will also be deployed for the first phase polling in 54 seats covering six North Bengal districts.
