EC to Centre: Defer notification of new gas price from April 1

The Election Commission has issued a notice to Union Minister and NCP chief Sharad Pawar over his remarks regarding voting twice by wiping ink.

In a letter to Pawar, the Commission yesterday said that prima facie the statement is violation of the Model Code of Conduct and asked him to explain his stand by tomorrow.

BJP leader Kirit Somaiya had lodged a complaint to the commission in this regard. At a function in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, NCP chief has asked the people to vote two times by wiping ink.
