Election Commissioner has sought clarification from the Railway Board and Rajya Sabha secretariate on the recent announcement of Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee to give free rail travel facility to girl students. Disclosing this at a press conference at Thiruvananthapuram, Chief Election Commissioner S.Y Quraishi said central forces will be deployed in Kerala for next month's Assembly election.Winding up two-day election assessment visit to Kerala, Mr. Quraishi said that the Commission will soon make a statement whether the railway minister's statement is a violation of election code of conduct. In reply to a question he said that Commission will submit clarification to the Kerala High Court about its decision to ban giving rice at 2 rupees per kg to more people in the State.
