EC serves notices on four Andhra ministers for alleged violation of code during electioneering

In Andhra Pradesh, the Election Commission has served notices on four state ministers for alleged violation of code during the electioneering in Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly Constituencies. The State Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal told a media conference in Hyderabad on Tuesday evening that they have allegedly campaigned at a Church. Besides D L Ravindra Reddy, the Congress candidate in Kadapa, state Ministers Manikya Varaparsad, Lakshminarayana and Ahmedullah have been asked to give a reply to the notices by Wednesday.The bye-election is being held for both the constituencies following resignation by sitting members. The polling will be held on 8th of next month. Meanwhile, 17 companies of Central Para Military Forces are being deployed for Bye election while some more additional forces have been sought to ensure fare and free polling. The Election Commission has so far seized two crore rupees of unaccounted money during the electioneering while over 9,800 persons with criminal record have been bound over.
