The Election Commission has seized over one hundred forty seven crore rupees worth Cash, Liquor, Drugs and Freebies in poll-going States of Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya till the15th of this month. The total seized items in three States includes over 14 crore rupees cash, more than three lakh liter Liquor which values over nine crore rupees; and drugs of rupees 85 crore 76 lakh rupees.<br />'' <br />'' Meghalaya has the highest seizures with over 63 crore rupees, while Tripura is second one with seizures worth 44 crore 67 lakh rupees. Nagaland's total seizures is 39 crore 19 lakh rupees.<br />'' <br />'' The Commission highlighted that the recorded seizures in the three States marked a significant increase with over 20 times increase in seizures as compared to Assembly Elections in 2018.<br />'' <br />''The Commission said that a special inter-agency team has been constituted to control illegal drugs. The team has destroyed over 14 crores worth of Ganja cultivation in Tripura. It said, 64 Expenditure Observers have been deputed in the three States for stricter vigil and monitoring the situation. Eighty Assembly Constituency have been marked as expenditure sensitive constituencies.<br />
