The Election Commission has sought video footage of the meeting in which Union Agriculture Minister and NCP chief Sharad Pawar asked his party workers in Navi Mumbai to vote twice, first at their hometowns and then at work places. Kirit Somaiya of BJP lodged a complaint with the Election Commission in connection with the statement made yesterday. He also said that he will file a police complaint against Pawar today for encouraging bogus voting.
Meanwhile, Pawar said that his words have been misinterpreted as the whole thing was told in a light hearted way. NCP sources said that an official clarification on Pawar’s statement would be submitted to the election commission today.
