<span style="color: #222222;">Election Commission has sought explanation from Chief Secretary of Punjab and DC Sangrur for asking for extension in polling time for the bypoll in Sangrur constituency. The Commission said in a statement that the explanation is being sought for asking for extension of polling time towards closing hours at 4 PM without any new facts appearing on the day of polling and thereby attempting to influence a section of voters.</span><br />
