In Bihar, leaders of different political parties have requested the Chief Election Commissioner S Y Quraishi to deploy jawans of central para military forces on every booths, to eliminate mistakes in the electoral roll and not to deploy tainted officers on election duties during the forthcoming assembly elections.Leaders of Congress, BJP, JD (U), RJD, LJP, NCP, BSP, CPI and CPM have submitted their memoranda and apprised the commission of their demand to the commission.AIR Patna Correspondent reports that the full Election Commission team headed by the Chief Election Commissioner S Y Quraishi has arrived at Patna this afternoon on a three-day visit of Bihar to oversee election preparations for the assembly polls in the state. The Chief Election commissioner is accompanied by the Election commissioner V.S. Sampath and Deputy Election commissioner Vinod Jutshi.Soon after arrival Mr. Quraishi hold review meeting with the Bihar Chief Electoral officers Sudhir Kumar Rakesh and other state election officers. The commission will announce the dates for the assembly polls after reviewing the election preparedness.The Chief Election Commissioner will hold discussions with District Magistrates( DMs) and Superintendent of police ( SPs) of the districts of the state tomorrow to ensure peaceful polling during assembly elections.After that he will hold talks with Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of the state. The election commission had already sought details on the 13 points including deployment of paramilitary forces, Number of sensitive booths, execution of non-bailable warrants, and matter regarding transfer of those officers who have been posted at one place for the last three years.The Chief Election Commissioner will also inaugurate a photo exhibition in Patna which has been organized on the occasion of diamond jubilee year of Election Commission of India.
