In Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Election Commissioner Dr SY Quraishi and two Election Commissioners V S Sampath and H S Brahma met representatives of different political parties this morning at Lucknow on the poll preparedness for the forthcoming Assembly elections. Political parties raised the issue of faulty voter’s lists and unavailability of Electoral Photo Identity Cards.AIR correspondent reports, the Congress demanded immediate ban on transfers of senior administrative and police officers.The Party has demanded that all officers facing charges for their partial conduct during previous elections must not be put on election duties.A delegation of BJP handed over a memorandum to the Commission about several issues including inclusion of bogus names and entries of same persons at many places in the voters list across the state.The EC delegation will also hold meeting separately with the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary Home and the Director General of Police.Review meeting with district election officers and divisional commissioners was held today. It is third visit of the Commission to the state within the last six months to review poll preparations.
