In Uttar Pradesh, the election commission reviewed poll preparedness for the first phase of assembly elections. The deputy election Commissioner Dr. Alok Shukla today arrived in Faizabad alongwith all concerned administrative and police officers of all 10 districts going for polls in this phase. Officers from five districts of phase two including Gorakhpur, Deoria, Maharajganj, Kushinagar and Sant Kabir Nagar also attending the review meeting.The Deputy Election Commissioner will have a separate meeting with the observers of the commission including police and expenditure, deputed in the districts and constituencies going for poll in first phases.Only few days are left for campaigning for first phase of elections. Polling will be held on 8th of this month in 56 constituencies in this phase. The Commission has directed that all possible steps must be taken to ensure people's participation in voting and effective security measures should be taken at vulnerable areas and polling booths.
