In Bihar, the Chief Election Commissioner of India S. Y. Quraishi along with two Election Commissioners, V.S.Sampath and H.S. Brahma are reviewing today the election preparedness of 93 constituencies of the state at Muzaffarpur. The Election Commission is holding discussions with Observers, District Magistrates, SPs, DIG and IGs of areas where the second and third phase of elections are to be held. The six-phase poll for 243 seats begins from 21st of this month and concludes on 20th of November. Votes will be counted on 24 of next month. AIR Patna correspondent reports that campaigning is in full swing. Leaders of various political parties are busy in addressing election meetings.Earlier, the Election Commission asked Civil Aviation authorities in Bihar to thoroughly check helicopters and aircrafts before they take-off for campaigning. The Chief Election Commissioner S Y Quraishi said that it was brought to his notice that these aircrafts are also being misused for carrying huge amount of cash and illegal items by candidates. Meanwhile, the Income Tax Department has deployed their intelligence team at Patna Airport to check inflow of huge black money from domestic and foreign sources.
