The Election Commission has instructed the candidates of different political parties to restrict the number of vehicles to ten in their convoy during campaigning of the assembly elections in Bihar. This will be in addition to those used by security personnel. This instruction will be valid till the model code of conduct remains in force.Today is the last day for filling of nomination papers for the third phase. 186 candidates have so far filed their nomination papers for this phase. Congress party has charged chief minister Nitish Kumar of misleading people by claiming that the centre is denying funds to the state for development projects.While addressing election meeting at Purnea Party campaigner Raj Babbar asserted that only Congress could alone bring social and political transformation and put the country on the path of progress and prosperity in Bihar.In Madhubani Rashtriya Janta Dal Supremo Lalu Prasad Yaday said that Nitish Kumar led National Democratic Alliance came to power because his party and Ram Vilas Paswan led Lok Jan shakti Party clashed with each other in the last election. He said this time the two parties are together and sure to form the government.On the other hand while addressing election meetings senior leader of Janata Dal ( United) and Chief Minister Chief Minister Nitish kumar claimed that caste-based arithmetic will fail in this election. He firmly stated that people too want candidates who vouch for development.The leaders of three left parties CPI, CPM and CPI( ML) made a joint appeal to the people of the state to vote for Left candidates in view of the fact that the Congress, RJD and NDA had failed to deliver the goods. The newly floated Left front is contesting the polls on the plank of land reforms. Panthers Party Chief Bhim Singh announced that his party would contest 50 seats in elections.
