In Punjab, the Election Commission has restricted the movement of Shiromani Akali Dal leader and State Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia to his polling station area from where he is an electorate.

This was disclosed by Chief Electoral Officer of the state VK Singh yesterday.

The Election Commission also ordered transfer of Amritsar Rural SSP Gurpreet Singh Gill following a complaint by Congress against him.

The Commission has directed that Mr. Gill should be asked to report to police headquarters at Chandigarh, and Balkar Singh, DIG (Crime) headquarters should take over his work till the completion of poll process tomorrow.

The Congress party had demanded the transfer of Gill for allegedly working for the ruling alliance candidate in Amritsar.
