<span style="color: #222222;">Election Commission&nbsp;today restrained the political appointees, who are heading the Municipal Corporations in West Bengal on appointment basis after the end of their elected term, from exercising the functions during the ongoing poll period.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Commission said, a committee headed by the State Chief Secretary will appoint the government officials to discharge the functions of the Administrators and Head of Board of Administrators in these local bodies during the period of Model Code of Conduct.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The poll panel added that&nbsp; it is expected of the Chief Secretary to ensure a level playing field in all other Municipal Bodies in West Bengal by rigorous reviews of their decisions which can disturb the level playing field.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Earlier, BJP had approached the Commission over the issue demanding&nbsp; removal of such political appointments by the TMC government.</span><br />'' &nbsp;
