EC red faced over KCR’s explanation

The Election Commission has expressed dissatisfaction over the reply filed by Telangana Rashtra Samithi President K Chandrasekhar Rao to its notice served on him for violating the model code during campaign for the bye-elections in Andhra Pradesh. The Commission issued the notice following a complaint lodged by Congress leaders that he had tried to influence voters on the basis of cast and religion during a campaign meeting in Karimnagar district recently. State Chief Electoral Officer I V Subba Rao told reporters last evening that the commission was not satisfied with the explanation given by the TRS Chief and conveyed him the same. Meanwhile, the Commission has served a show cause notice to the former Minister and Congress candidate from Yellareddy Assembly segment for his alleged promises at a meeting held at a church.
