Election Commission has postponed the bye-elections of Anantnag Assembly Constituency in Jammu and Kashmir and Ghoradongari Assembly Constituency in Madhya Pradesh. On Tuesday, the commission had announced bye-elections in these two constituencies. <br/><br/>The commission postponed the bye-election after getting request from the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir that the law and order situation in Anantnag district is not conducive at the moment for the holding bye-election due to certain recent incidents. <br/><br/>Similarly, Madhya Pradesh government also said that the entire state administration, including police forces, will be focusing on the smooth conduct of Simhastha Mahakumbh, which will begin on 22nd of this month and will continue for one month. The state government has requested the commission to postpone the polling and counting by about 10 days for the bye-election from Ghoradongari Assembly Constituency.
