EC puts ban on transfers of poll related officers in UP

In Uttar Pradesh the Election Commission has put a ban on transfers of poll related officers in all districts from 29th of this month in view of the electoral roll revision ahead of Assembly polls due next year.Chief electoral officer Umesh Sinha has told our Lucknow correspondent that the ban would be remain in force for three months during which the revision of electoral rolls will take place. He has said that tentative voters list will be published on September 29 and it will be available at polling booths till 29th of next month for public view. Eligible missing voters may submit their forms for enrollment during this period.He said that special arrangements are being done on all Sundays during this period for effective voter’s list revision. He said special observers have been deployed at all divisions for revision. Mr. Sinha said final voters list will be published on January 2 next year.
